The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and DMG Events have reaffirmed their collaboration with the Bayelsa State Government ahead of the 15th edition of the Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum scheduled to hold from November 30 to December 3, 2026, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The commitment was reaffirmed on Tuesday during a strategic engagement between officials of NCDMB and DMG Events and the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, at the Government House in Yenagoa.
The meeting was held to appreciate the Bayelsa State Government for its longstanding partnership in hosting the PNC Forum over the past 15 years and to seek its continued support for the 2026 edition, which will take place at the NCDMB Conference Centre, Yenagoa.
Leading the NCDMB delegation, the General Manager, Corporate Communications Division, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, highlighted the economic significance of the PNC Forum, as well as the impact of other NCDMB activities and programmes in Bayelsa State.
Ezeobi conveyed the appreciation of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, to the Bayelsa State Government for its contributions to the success of the PNC Forum, particularly its role in hosting the opening banquet and supporting the Youth PNC segment.
He explained that the Youth PNC provides young people in the Niger Delta region with exposure to emerging opportunities in the oil and gas industry, while also equipping them with knowledge and competencies needed to build successful careers in other critical sectors of the economy.

Ezeobi also disclosed that new initiatives had been introduced for the 2026 edition of the PNC Forum to make the event more engaging and create greater value for participants.
The Senior Manager, Zonal Coordination, NCDMB, Mr. Adebayo Joseph, also briefed the meeting on plans for the Youth PNC segment.
On its part, the DMG Events delegation, led by Ms. Olamide Oloko, outlined the main programme for the 2026 PNC Forum and highlighted several new initiatives planned for the event.
Among the new activities is the Local Content Roundtable scheduled for November 30, which is expected to provide an avenue for stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues affecting local content development in Nigeria.
The 2026 programme will also feature a two-day programme specifically designed for Local Community Contractors (LCCs), with the objective of helping them scale their operations and improve their capacity to participate more effectively in the industry.
Another major innovation is a breakout session that will bring together stakeholders to share perspectives and ideas that could help shape the direction of Nigerian Content development over the next decade.
The forum will also feature a Townhall Session involving key industry leaders, including the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Chairman of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) and the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).
Responding, Deputy Governor Akpe pledged the continued cooperation of the Bayelsa State Government with NCDMB and DMG Events to ensure a successful 2026 PNC Forum.
He assured the delegation that adequate security would be provided throughout the event and reaffirmed the state’s tradition of hosting the gala dinner and participating actively in the main conference and Youth PNC.
Akpe also commended NCDMB for integrating some participants from the 2025 Youth PNC into its capacity-building programmes, describing the development as an important step towards creating opportunities for young people in the region.
The Deputy Governor, however, called for increased participation of senior officials from the oil and gas industry at the welcome gala dinner, stressing the importance of stronger engagement between industry leaders and other stakeholders.
The Practical Nigerian Content Forum, hosted annually by NCDMB and DMG Events, serves as a major platform for reviewing and tracking the implementation of Nigerian Content policies, while providing an avenue for stakeholders to discuss new directions for investment, capacity development and growth in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The 2026 edition is expected to further deepen collaboration among government, industry stakeholders and local participants, while strengthening local participation and increasing value retention within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
