The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has charged members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council to unite party structures across the country, communicate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and mobilise Nigerians for his re-election in 2027.

Yilwatda gave the charge on Wednesday during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, where he described the assignment as a collective responsibility requiring effective coordination, discipline, strategic communication and sustained engagement with Nigerians.
According to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC National Chairman said the party’s campaign must be anchored on the administration’s record, honest acknowledgement of existing challenges and a credible vision for the country’s future.
He urged members of the council to ensure that the administration’s economic reforms and investments in critical infrastructure were clearly communicated to Nigerians, particularly their potential impact on productivity, employment, commerce and national development.
He listed investments in roads, power, gas, railways, ports, agriculture and digital connectivity among the areas the campaign council should highlight in explaining the administration’s policies and achievements.
“Our responsibility is to explain what has been achieved, what is progressing and what remains to be done. We must demonstrate how these reforms and investments will translate into practical improvements in the lives of Nigerians,” Yilwatda said.
The APC chairman stressed that the effectiveness of the campaign would depend largely on collaboration among national party leaders, governors, legislators, state chapters, local government structures and ward members.
He said the different levels of the party must work together to ensure that the campaign message reaches Nigerians in every community, noting that a coordinated approach would be necessary to communicate the administration’s record and objectives.
Yilwatda also emphasised the need for women, youths and persons with disabilities to participate meaningfully in the campaign, calling for their inclusion in leadership and mobilisation activities.
“Our women are indispensable to party organisation and community mobilisation. Our youths must be engaged as partners in shaping Nigeria’s future, while persons with disabilities must enjoy full, accessible and inclusive participation in our democratic process,” he stated.
The national chairman urged members of the council to approach their responsibilities with confidence and commitment, while warning against complacency.
“Confidence is not complacency. It is the determination to prepare thoroughly, work together and earn the trust of the people,” he said.
He explained that the APC would seek the support of Nigerians for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 by presenting what it considers evidence of progress, explaining government policies and outlining areas where further work remains necessary.
Yilwatda further urged the campaign council to address issues affecting citizens, including the cost of living, security, employment, education, healthcare, agricultural productivity and access to economic opportunities.
He said the campaign should provide explanations of the administration’s policies and demonstrate how its programmes are intended to respond to these concerns.
The APC chairman also called for issue-based and peaceful political engagement, acknowledging the legitimate role of opposition parties in Nigeria’s democratic system.
“The APC will present its case with confidence, defend its record with facts and trust Nigerians to make their choice through a credible democratic process,” he said.
Yilwatda reaffirmed the commitment of the APC National Working Committee to working closely with the Presidential Campaign Council and other party structures towards achieving their shared objectives.
He urged members to remain united and focused on the task ahead, stressing that effective communication, cooperation and engagement with citizens would be central to the party’s campaign.
The APC national chairman concluded by restating the council’s mission to work together, communicate effectively and seek Nigerians’ mandate for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“One mission, one responsibility: to work together, communicate effectively and earn the mandate of Nigerians for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he declared.
