The Obaji Development Foundation has opened applications for journalists interested in participating in a workshop focused on disinformation research, analysis and fact-checking.

The application window opened on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will close on Friday, September 18, 2026.
According to the foundation, the workshop is designed to strengthen journalists’ capacity to investigate disinformation, conduct research and produce credible analysis that can contribute to addressing the spread of false and misleading information.
The organisers stated that applicants must have the endorsement of the Editor or Chief Executive of their respective media organisations.
Intending participants are also required to provide proof of fact-checking content published within the last 12 months as evidence of their previous experience in fact-checking.
The foundation further said participants must be willing to devote time to producing disinformation research and analysis after the training, indicating that the programme will require continued engagement beyond the workshop.
The organisers also clarified that the workshop is open to only one journalist per organisation.
Interested journalists are therefore encouraged to complete their applications before the September 18 deadline.

The workshop is expected to provide participating journalists with an opportunity to improve their fact-checking and research skills while contributing to broader efforts to identify, investigate and counter disinformation.
